Restaurants & Chefs

Sabor y Vino brings together the finest Latin American culinary talent in South Florida for an unforgettable evening of authentic flavors, innovative techniques, and regional specialties you won't find anywhere else. Our participating restaurants represent the full spectrum of Latin American cuisine, from the coastal ceviches of Peru to the smoky asados of Argentina, the bold moles of Mexico to the soulful classics of Cuba and Puerto Rico.

Each November, we curate a lineup of restaurants and chefs who are passionate about their craft and committed to showcasing the depth and diversity of Latin American food culture. These aren't just vendors serving samples—they're culinary ambassadors sharing the dishes that define their heritage and their kitchens.

The Culinary Lineup

Our festival floor transforms into a tasting journey across Latin America. You'll move from station to station, experiencing the distinct character of each cuisine and the chefs who have mastered it. Expect to taste Mexican street tacos with hand-pressed tortillas, Peruvian anticuchos with aji amarillo, Cuban lechón with mojo criollo, Argentine empanadas with chimichurri, Puerto Rican mofongo, Colombian arepas, Venezuelan cachapas, and Brazilian feijoada—all prepared on-site by the teams that make them daily.

We prioritize restaurants that source quality ingredients, honor traditional preparation methods, and bring genuine regional recipes to the table. Many of our participating chefs were born and trained in Latin America before bringing their expertise to South Florida. Others grew up in Latin American households here and learned their craft from family recipes passed down through generations. What unites them is a commitment to authenticity and flavor.

How We Select Our Restaurants

Our selection process is rigorous and intentional. We visit restaurants throughout the year, taste their food, talk to their chefs, and evaluate their approach to Latin American cuisine. We look for establishments that have built a reputation for excellence in their communities, whether they're beloved neighborhood spots or acclaimed destination restaurants.

We consider several factors: the authenticity of their recipes, the quality and consistency of their execution, their use of traditional techniques and ingredients, and their ability to translate their restaurant experience into a festival setting. We want every bite at Sabor y Vino to reflect the care and skill that goes into a full meal at these restaurants.

Geographic diversity matters too. We strive to represent as many Latin American countries and culinary traditions as possible, so attendees experience the true range of what Latin American cuisine offers. That means balancing well-known favorites with lesser-known regional specialties that deserve wider recognition.

The Tasting Experience

When you arrive at Sabor y Vino, you'll receive a tasting passport that grants you access to unlimited samples from every participating restaurant. There's no ticket punching, no rationing, no running out—if you want to go back for seconds or thirds of a dish that speaks to you, we encourage it.

Each restaurant sets up a full tasting station with their kitchen team on-site, preparing dishes throughout the evening. You're not eating reheated food from chafing dishes. You're getting fresh preparations made to order or finished in front of you, often by the executive chef or owner themselves. It's the kind of access and interaction you'd never get walking into their restaurant on a typical night.

Portion sizes are designed for tasting—substantial enough to appreciate the dish, small enough that you can pace yourself and try everything. The goal is exploration, not a single meal. We want you to discover new flavors, compare regional variations of the same dish, and leave with a list of restaurants you need to visit.

Meet the Chefs

One of the most valuable aspects of Sabor y Vino is the opportunity to meet the chefs and restaurant owners behind the food. They're on the festival floor, working their stations, talking to guests, and sharing the stories behind their dishes. Ask them about their inspiration, their training, their family recipes, or the best way to recreate a technique at home. They're there because they love talking about Latin American food as much as they love cooking it.

Throughout the evening, we also host brief chef demonstrations and panel discussions on the main stage, where participating chefs showcase signature techniques, discuss regional ingredients, and answer questions from the audience. It's cooking education woven into the festival experience, and it deepens your appreciation for what you're tasting.

Supporting Local Culinary Excellence

Sabor y Vino is more than a tasting event—it's a platform for South Florida's Latin American restaurant community. We're proud to shine a spotlight on the chefs and establishments that enrich our region's dining landscape year-round. Many of our participating restaurants are family-owned, and this festival gives them visibility and recognition they might not otherwise receive.

When you attend Sabor y Vino, you're not just enjoying an evening of exceptional food. You're supporting local businesses, celebrating cultural heritage, and connecting with the people who keep Latin American culinary traditions alive and thriving in our community. We hope you leave inspired to seek out these restaurants, try new cuisines, and become part of the vibrant Latin food culture that makes South Florida such a remarkable place to eat.

Join us this November and taste what makes Latin American cuisine one of the most exciting, diverse, and flavorful food traditions in the world.
